A RADIO station with all music and no presenters has come to Penrith. Fusion FM 87.8 is a sister station of Vintage FM, both of which are operated by husband and wife team, Wayne and Ann Willmington. ‘‘Let the music do the talking,’’ is Fusion’s motto. ‘‘It plays the current top 50 songs,’’ Mr Willmington said. ‘‘There are advertisements but there’ll be no DJs.’’ He said he was confident that Fusion FM could survive without presenters. ‘‘So many people are fed up with radio because there’s so much talking and so much rubbish some presenters go on with,’’ Mr Willmington said. ‘‘Presenters might talk for 10 minutes and keep playing promotions of themselves before they get to playing music. When you’re driving a long distance, you usually want to listen to music, not a DJ talking about nothing. A lot of businesses have told us they’re going to play Fusion on their premises because there’s nothing but music.’’ He said that like Vintage FM, Fusion would focus on the Penrith, Blue Mountains and Hawkesbury regions. ‘‘The feedback we’re getting so far has been good,’’ Mr Willmington said. ‘‘We felt we had to make a point of difference with a new station and this is it. I’m pretty confident this will take off.’’
