Female fans have just five more days to vote for their favourite NRL star with Rugby League’s annual “Favourite Son” Award to kick off almost a month of celebrations for the 2012 Harvey Norman Women in League Round.
On-line voting for the Favourite Son Award closes next Friday (June 15) at http://www.rloc南京夜网.au/default.aspx?s=fav-son-nom with the winner to be announced on Tuesday, June 19, at the 2012 Harvey Norman Women in League Sydney Lunch, the official start to the WIL Round being celebrated during Round 16 of the Telstra Premiership, from June 22-25.
The 10 final contenders, chosen by Rugby League’s female supporters are: Luke Lewis (Panthers), Luke Burt (Eels), Matt Bowen (Cowboys), Braith Anasta (Roosters), Joe Galuvao (Sea Eagles), Manu Vatuvei (Warriors), Ben Creagh (Dragons), Kurt Gidley (Knights), Terry Campese (Raiders) and Luke Bailey (Titans).
The Favourite Son Award is presented to a player who acts as a role model to younger players and whose off-field characteristics embody the true values of the Rugby League community.
It was established in 2009 and past winners include Hazem El Masri (2009), Nathan Hindmarsh (2010) and Petero Civoniceva (2011).
The sixth annual celebration of the Harvey Norman Women in League initiative pays tribute to over 60,000 female volunteers, officials, players, employees and administrators at the heart of the game.
