Applying for enrolment at university can be confusing for students and their families, but the two University of Western Sydney Parent Information Evenings will help them.

These free evenings gather together parents, guardians, students and university staff members, and answer questions and concerns about starting university.

They will be held at the UWS Parramatta campus on Thursday, July 5, and the Campbelltown campus on Thursday, July 12.

Students and their parents and guardians are invited to attend either together or separately.

Registration is essential and can be completed by going to www.uws.edu.au/parentinfo

High hopes for gold

Penrith Council wants you to boost this city’s profile by voting for the Penrith Visitor Information Centre in the Greater Sydney Tourism Awards.

The centre has won the gold award for the past two years and hopes to do the same again this year.

If it does, it will be entitled to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Penrith Council, which runs the visitor centre, is also a finalist in the new Local Government Award for Tourism category, which recognises excellence in tourism planning.
