Last week the Nepean District Women’s Bowls Association celebrated its 50th birthday, one of a big year with some clubs turning 50 and 60 years and one even close to 70. Two local clubs are playing in the state pennant play-offs at Forester-Tuncurrry from August 13: St Marys Grade 1 and Glenbrook Grade 2. Angle Tindall will be playing singles, Deby Brien and Theresa Naylor pairs, and Deby Brien, Angie Tindall, Vicki Baker and Gloria Harper in the fours at the state playoffs. All are from the St Marys RSL Club. Deby Brien and Angie Tindall will also play in the Premier Cup tourament at Merrylands in September. There is a yearly event at Kemps Creek on Thursday, August 23, with women over age 70 the only ones eligible to play.
